Menopause Day Retreat - Educate, Empower, Embrace

A day of understanding and support for all stages of menopause

By educating ourselves, we are empowered through knowledge, wisdom, sharing and understanding. Further insight into menopause allows us to find strength to better cope with this often major change in our lives and we can then see each other and ourselves with new found empathy, love and support. It is important to know that whilst we are all navigating our own unique and individual journey, we are not alone during this often lonely menopause path.

Whether you are experiencing surgical-menopause, peri-menopause, mid menopause, post menopause or just want to understand more about yourself this day is designed to:

  • Finally put yourself and your needs first.
  • Check-in on yourself mentally and physically.
  • Speak (if you choose) and be heard in a safe space.
  • Share and connect with other women travelling this often challenging and sometimes confusing journey.
  • Nourish your body with a delicious lunch, morning and afternoon tea.
  • Nurture your body, mind and soul with a Yoga session that encourages rest, restoration and rejuvenation as well as guided breathwork and short guided meditation.
  • Educate and empower yourself with knowledge and information presented by Tracey Yeend - RN/RM Natural Medicine Practitioner and Dr Jessica Floreani - Aware Women’s Health GP.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Megan from Four Seasons Yoga along with lifelong girlfriends, Sally Nicholson and Kylie Porter- Wright, are honored to host this event to bring women together at whatever their stage of their menopause journey, whether it is surgical menopause, peri-menopause, menopause or post- menopause. Women need to know they are not alone, and that reaching out for help and just wanting to talk about how they are doing should be encouraged and supported.

Megan will guide you through a gentle and restorative Yoga practice incorporating guided breath-work and a short guided meditation. These practices work to calm your nervous system allowing you to find peace and calm in both your body, mind and soul. All of which can be tested to their limits during menopause.

After morning tea, we welcome Tracey Yeend - RN/RM Natural Medicine Practitioner to share her wealth of knowledge and experience with us all with plenty of time for questions and answers.

Tracey Yeend is a Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife, Natural Medicine Practitioner and other qualifications in Pharmacology & Teaching. She comes with 38 years of experience in many facets of health, particularly Women’s Health, nutritional deficiencies and interactions. Her private clinics are located at Belair Pharmacy (0403 430 970) and FBW Gynaecology Plus (8297 2822) at Ashford. On Mondays & Tuesdays, Tracey is available at The Belair Pharmacy (6-10 Main Road, Belair) in her role as Integrative Wellness Practitioner and able to assist you with short chats, advice and information from 9am - 5pm, at no charge. Tracey has presented Health segments on Radio FiveAA for 19 years and can be heard regularly on Leith Forrest Nights 8.30pm Wednesday Nights and on Saturday afternoons over summer.

Sally will then provide us with a delicious home cooked lunch to share. A chance to chat casually chat and mingle with the wonderful group of women.

After lunch Dr Jessica Floreani from Aware Women’s Health share her wealth of knowledge and experience with us all with plenty of time for questions and answers.

Dr Jessica Floreani BSc (Biomed Sc) BMBS FRACGP DCH Cert S&RH is a GP with a special interest in sexual and reproductive health and has worked in Adelaide for over 15 years. Jessica consults as a specialist Women’s Health practitioner at Aware Women’s Health and is the current SA/NT Board Director for the Australasian Menopause Society. Jessica has spent many years caring for and educating women at all stages in their reproductive life and in particular is passionate about assisting those navigating perimenopause and menopause.

Following afternoon tea, we will again come together for our Sharing Circle. Here we share own Menopause journey, what our experience has been and perhaps what has worked/what hasn’t worked for you. You can share as much or as little as you like and you are welcome to just listen. This sharing circle is non-judgmental and we all hold space and give support to one another to be heard, our feelings and experiences validated and normalised.

We then finish this special day together as one beautiful group of empowered and supported women.

Upon leaving you will receive a list of references on podcasts, books, and websites. Knowledge is power, and the more information we gain about Menopause, the more we can understand and make the best choices for ourselves, of course, along with guidance from your medical provider.

We are very excited to share, support, educate and empower each and every-one of you at this very special Menopause Day Retreat - Empower, Educate and Embrace all things menopause.
